Definitely dig their elephant in front of the shop and wonder now if that one in fact was a spy monitoring customers and our group as those animals supposedly never forget. Paranoia, anyone? However, mid-aged budtender greeted us and asked what we were after. Wiet seemed the usual standard of today's so called coffeeshop high grade, about eleven on tap like Sour Haze (8,5€/g), White Widow (9€/g), Critical (?), Anna Power (8,5€/g) and Gorilla Glue#4 (?) - though better than Splif II's so eventually were shown the top pick-ups when it comes to hashish - eleven options as well - which were Warme Oren (10€/g) and Beldia (10€/0,8g), also had an iceolator on the menu for 22€/g. Both looked tempting but went for the blondish former one. Genuine piece of Moroccan classic descent but in retrospect should have gone for the Beldia, too. Place to go when in Purmerend me thinks.

A nice place to stay smoking, spending time &/or playing various games with your friends. Choice is good, prices are quite cheap regard of the quality you can find. You can have coffee, tea & soft drinks. People (both owners & consumers) are friendly. The Cupido is the perfect coffee shop for a short "smoking stop" while visiting the outside Amsterdam north area. Lived there, went several times, and I've never been disappointed.

The shop is easy to find. They have a great choice. Any bag of hash or weed they sell (like White Widow, Red Hair, Jack Herrer, ICE, Silver etc.) is about 13€ / 2g or you'll get "Cupido OP", that's a choice from the dealer and you pay 6€ / 1g. They've got a pool table, different kinds of games and magazines. The staff is very friendly. They sell coffee and soft drinks too.

Nice selection of smoke, chose the White Widow for 6.25 euros a gram. It is incredible. Coffeeshop seemed cool, pool table and fooseball are nice. Staff also very friendly. The patrons though were not so friendly and were not interested in talking to me. I will probably return but not to hang out since the patrons were unkind.

The Cupido in Purmerend is a very nice place to smoke. I was there in 2000 and I will return in 2004 on Dec 2nd thru the 9th. Very relaxed laidback atmosphere and they had an excellent selection of weed and hash. When I was there I smoked the Blanca which was a crystal covered delight. I also smoked the Northern Lights, Juiceyfruit and the Super Skunk. I was very stoned and the place was not crowded at all. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Pretty good music and nice game room to spend away the hours.
