I was reluctant to visit this coffeeshop, considering the comments on this website. I was pleasantly surprised by the service, a friendly lady and at E6 per half gram for a nice White Widow, I am happy. They had a great variety and a big space to stay and smoke if you like. It was completely opposite of my expectations, time they got a break! There must be a good reason why they are the only coffeeshop left in Assen!

Scores poorly in all respects, especially customer service. When you spend around 100 euro there every week, you expect better.
This could very well be the worst coffee shop in the Netherlands. Besides the fact that they make you register your fingerprint and personal information (name address etc.) before you are allowed to buy anything, the prices and quality are both horrible. Because they are the only shop in Assen they have a monopoly position which they take heavy advantage of. They are rude, the atmosphere is terrible and the general vibe there always makes me nervous. Please, if you're in the north, go to Groningen; they have some great shops there. For 1/3 less of the price and the quality is waaaaay better.
This must be absolutely the worst coffeeshop of Holland. Those people don't deserve to have a coffeeshop. They treat costumers as trash and the quality is very low. Better go to another place like Groningen or Emmen or even Meppel.
The bags are shit, I have to use a microscope to find the weed. The people are cranky and not happy. How can they work in a "happy corner". Since the Meram is closed, the Happy is treating all his customers like shit. I also think that they should change their name to the Sad Corner. It's more appropriate! Another comment about. The quality is very cheap. I also heard that they spray on it to look more cristally and other kinds of unnecessary chemicals. I hope that they fuck up and they close their corner!

It used to be a good shop back in the days, me and my friends would stay long after closing hours with the owner and the bartender. At that time they didn't sell from behind the counter, you had to know who the dealer was in the shop in order to get the stuff. Always good weed and big bags, fully stuffed! When the Meram opened things got even better, they started to compete with each other meaning the customer would get extras like a blunt or a piece of hash. Unfortunately the Meram had to close due to some other business they had which proved to be illegal. This is where things turned ugly, smaller bags and no respect. No more small talk or even a simple "hello goodbye have a nice day" anymore and when you say something about the quality or amount, you get barked at. I'm a customer for over 15 years now and never have I been treated this way before in a coffeeshop. This shop is going down the drain, people should avoid this shop at all costs (better get it in Groningen or Emmen). For all you folks out there who like to come to Assen and enjoy things like the TT-races with a blunt; you better take some from home with you or buy it on the way to Assen but whatever you do, don't buy anything at The Happy Corner!
This is the worst coffeeshop ever. They try to scam everybody with their small bags cos they are the only shop in Assen. You can only see one bag at a time you used to see a handful. Now why is this? Cos they only have small bags. You pay 6 euros for something that's not even worth 5 euro. My advice is go to Zuidlaren or Groningen. But stay away from this shop, bunch of greedy motherfuckers. I wish they would close the Happy and open the Meram again, they had good bags but this is unbelievable. If you buy a pack of chips it ain't normal if it's half full so why would this be allowed. pff bunch of losers the Happy are. And you wont be treated with respect here you say hello they say nothing. Avoid this shop.
The oldest shop in Assen which is still running. It has been redecorated last summer, nice shop, quite for locals, but if the Meram is lacking quality you can come here, the quality in Assen always shifts from Meram to the Happy and back again, it is difficult to say which shop is the best. The Happy has a buy-counter for grass and hashish and prerolled blunts and sometimes space cakes. You can hang there, they have internet last time I was there, a pool table, some arcadegames, tv, music ranges from reggae to r ' n' b to rap (urban I believe it is called today) it is overall an okay shop!
