Despite we learnt that this small town belongs to the municipality of Rotterdam – also hilariously called 'Rotterdam by the sea' as a local Dutchie taught us - while strolling through this unremarkable seaside town there is no indicator of this certain beloved big city and its unfortunately horrendous coffeeshop culture of mostly take-away places to be seen as this here is a relatively roomy place coming with 40 seats, a billiard table and pinball machine included! Maybe a touch of a dockland pub, too, but in a good way. Nice enough staff. They also do tostis if anyone fancies a snack. Also they offered a somewhat antiquated service there which personally impressed me and I let every future visitor find out what it is. Needless to say nothing illegal otherwise I would never mention it as just unethical and selfish. In opposite to that their neat menu offered seven strains of wiet and four for hasj. I think in both cases they sell pre-packed bags containing 0,9g and 1,9g, haha. Quality sadly reminded of the big city about 25 kilometres away then again, but you can't have it all, can't you? 'nuff said! We spent a few hours inside and enjoyed one of the last places of oldschool Dutch coffeeshop culture, especially the opportunity to socialise with others, across the country as reported a lot before this getting more rare and is a symptom of our times and despite not being in my personal top ten it came unexpectedly and needs to be mentioned!

Well this is still my favourite coffeeshop in the Netherlands. Board games, great staff, good prices, comfy seats, what more do you need?!

The Comic in Hoek van Holland are open again under a new name "de Storm". The whole place is changed into a beachhouse, nice and fresh. With quality wear for sale and friendly staff it is good to visit this coffeeshop.

Closed. What a drag.

Must 'av bin 2 Comic 6 or 7 times, I think it's a great place. An old friend showed it 2 me. We got so carried away we missed the ferry and 'ad 2 find a bed 4 the night in the Hook. Stayed in the Comic till 'bout 1 then went 2 bed. Got ferry at 7 in morn. "twats" always got top hash there cos I'm English I loved my hash when we used 2 get all that nice stuff. Now the buds took over I miss the solid canned, know what I mean? So when I get there it's Super Polm or the Scuff is well nice. Smell just takes u back. Don't get me wrong I love my weed but reckon us English grow the finest 'erb fact "sorry cloggies" nah great country bin about there abit. Get 2 the Hook and 'av it cool breeze :)
