They are open again. They hired a different security, now everyone gets id checked at the door.

Here we go again. After being told not to speak to people in front of the shop, park my bicycle halfway down the street and some funky shit they had to suddenly close for two months, they at it again. According to city ordnance everyone has to be checked for id. While the privacy law states that only when in doubt of age they allowed to. I mean I'm going on 50. Walked in there for 3 decades and now I'm obligated to id myself? This is no coffeshop, this is a parody of one. Just go to Zwolle.

This shop is not friendly, they have a bad doorman who seems aggressive and makes bad jokes about customers. There is no friendly solution when you say something about the doorman he seems to be always right. I don't recommend this shop it's too expensive, too controlled (police), too amateur. It's not like the usual coffeeshop and you need a pass, so ID in the computer, I don't think that u'r privacy is secure when you go there. I'm Dutch and proud of it but the rules and policy of 't Keldertje make me sad.

Entrance requires a membership, which will cost 7.5 euros and requires you to be photographed. There is an option for outsiders to become a temp member according to the info they advertise with. There is heavy security outside and inside which scared me off, aside the whole privacy breach. The security is run by an old karate champion Mr Henry Mossel, a current advisor of the local police on hand to hand combat. They claim they handle your info privately and secure. Seems impossible under these conditions. As well as making a very unfriendly environment, it's just a conflict of interests. Aside the icky privacy breach and the bald muscle maniacs breathing down your neck, it seems like a decent shop with the same old avg quality and a place to hang. Prices seem to have gone up, tho the shop itself doesn't have any personality (yet). I would really recommend taking the extra effort of going a few more miles/km's to Zwolle where there's choice, no crappy registering of your purchase or Uncle Sam watching over your shoulder. Aside of better quality, as well price might be a consideration at this time, prices seem have to gone up due to extra staff.
