Suncity

Although there are numerous shops in Amersfoort, I always go to Suncity. Convenient location to the market and just wandering around the old part of the city. Have always been happy with the quality and prices. If I remember correctly one of the employees bought the place and renamed it.

A shop proclaimed by its lively and entrepreneurial young owner as 'the cleanest, nicest coffeeshop in Amersfoort', which for decor is certainly true, but remember to ask for the door handle before you lock yourself into the toilet! Alas, the Williams No Fear pinball wasn't working when we visited (!), but the Photoplay and Internet terminal (a 'sexy' 17" flat screen, no less!) both were; the latter situated at the back, near the chill out area with comfy seating and low table. Not a huge shop, but made spacious by cunning design, the front is dominated by quite good pink and sand coloured murals, with wooden seats and tables and a small bar - probably about 25-30 people could fit fairly comfortably. Mine host has a dizzying range of special offers: 3 for price of 2 for rolled joints, every day; 25% off hash on Sundays; €5 free hash per €15 bought on Mondays; and €5 free hash per €15 bought on Tuesdays (phew!).
